Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How do I buy with SBT?

Once you are registered on our website, one of our advisors will contact you to assist with the buying process.

Q2. Do you inspect the vehicles before auctioning them?

We have highly qualified staff who conduct a detailed inspection of the vehicles before deciding to auction them. They confirm that the vehicle details and conditions match the information provided by the auction houses.

Q3. What payment methods do you accept?

Due to frequent credit card fraud, we only accept payments through bank transfers from your bank account to our bank account.

Q4. Who can register as clients with SBT?

Any person or company dedicated to the importation of used vehicles, or an individual buyer, can register as a client.

Q5. Do you have offices in Chile?

Yes, we have an office located in Iquique.

Q6. Can I make my payment at your local office?

It is not possible, all payments must be made via bank transfer to our headquarters in Japan.

Q7. What is the estimated time for the vehicle to arrive at its destination?

Once the deposit is made (it takes approximately 3 days for the transfer to reflect in our bank account), and confirmed, space will be reserved with the shipping companies. After booking, the trip takes 25 to 30 days to reach the destination port once it departs from the origin. NOTE: It is important to note that the shipping companies are not SBT’s, so the booking time may vary by a week or more depending on the shipping company.

Q8. What documents do I need to pick up the vehicle from customs?

Bill of Lading (BL). These documents will be sent via DHL.

Q9. How do I release my vehicle?

There are companies or individuals who specialize in vehicle release, these are called consignees. Our staff will provide you with more information about these companies or individuals to make your purchase process easier. NOTE: The consignees are not part of SBT, so each one has its own regulations, procedures, and fees.
